Although i have tried many apps to make music directly on and with the iPad, nothing really made me feel at home. So i still use Logic to record and create music. But today i ran across “TouchOSC” a really great app that let’s you control your sequencer and software instruments with the iPad (sending Open Sound Messages via Wifi). I am currently playing around with it using a demo of Ableton Live but it does also work with Logic and many other applications. You still need a piece of software on your computer that receives the signals and maps them to whatever piece of software you want to use. It took me some time to configure everything, but it was worth the time. Here is the app: TouchOSC. I am using  LiveControl to control a demo of Ableton Live (8.2)… I had some issues with the latency of TouchOSC but i was able to solve them by using a direct Wifi connection instead of using our home router. Here’s a video of someone using TouchOSC to make some music with Logic and the iPad.

Aw, this was a really nice post. Finding the time and actual effort
to generate a superb article… but what can
I say… I put things off a lot and never seem to get anything done.
